PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber composition having excellent roll workability, mechanical strength, heat-resistance, etc., by reacting a rubber-forming polymer composed mainly of a silicone rubber and a saturated elastomer with an organic peroxide under shearing deformation. CONSTITUTION:The objective rubber composition is produced by reacting (A) 100pts.wt. of a rubber component composed of (A1) 3-70pts.wt. of a silicone rubber, preferably a polyorganosiloxane expressed by formula (R is univalent hydrocarbon group; 0.02-10mol.% of R is vinyl; a is 1.9-2.004) and having a polymerization degree of 500-10,000, (A2) 30-97pts.wt. of a saturated-type elastomer free from crosslinking point with organic peroxide and (A3) 0-20pts. wt., preferably 3-20pts.wt. of an elastomer co-crosslinkable with the component A1 in the presence of an organic peroxide and co-crosslinkable or highly compatible with the component A2 with (B) 0.01-10pts.wt. of an organic peroxide under shearing deformation. The obtained composition can be converted to a crosslinked rubber product by compounding with a crosslinking agent of the component A2.
