PURPOSE:To efficiently produce a lignin peroxidase CH, by cultivating a microorganism belonging to the Genus Coriolus and having lignin peroxidase CH producing ability in a culture medium and producing the lignin peroxidase CH. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism belonging to the Genus Coriolus and having a lignin peroxidase CH producing ability is cultivated in a culture medium to afford a lignin peroxidase CH in a culture solution and the resultant lignin peroxidase CH is collected from the culture solution. Further more, in the above- mentioned cultivation, preferably a culture fungal cell in the initial stage of stationary state from logarithmic growth period of microorganism is re- suspended into a buffer containing a lignin-related substance or/and model compound thereof, allowed to stand and insulated in temperature. The lignin in the lignocellulose substance can be effectively subjected to conversion to low molecular compound or decomposed by using the resultant lignin peroxidase CH.
