Hinge down open type bow visor equipped car ferry

PURPOSE: To downsize a bow visor, reduce its weight, and simplify its driving mechanisms by providing a vehicle going-in-and-out opening in the bow edge, and opening the opening by means of downward turning motion (hinge down) of the bow visor. ;CONSTITUTION: The upper edge 18a of an opening 18 leading to a deck (a) for vehicles is set at a level lower than an upper deck (b), and a bow visor 1 capable of forming the external shape of a bow part in conformity with the opening 18 is constituted so as to be put in an open condition by making downward turning motion around a hinge 5 through an arm 4. Thereby, since the bow visor 1 can be downsized and made more lightweight in comparison with a case when a conventional bow visor is opened by placing it in upward turning motion, the driving mechanisms 2 and 3 can be also simplified. There is also provided such a mechanism as enabling the arm to serve also as a vehicle passage member or moving the visor slightly frontward prior to downward slewing motion of the bow visor.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
