PURPOSE: To provide the subject coating composition containing a phenoxy resin, etc., of a specified number-average molecular weight, a curing agent such as urine resin and silica as the essential components, excellent in corrosion resistance and adhesion, capable of ready application at a job site and useful for a galvanized steel cable wire, etc. ;CONSTITUTION: The objective composition for coating a galvanized steel wire is obtained by blending, as the essential components, (A) a phenoxy resin having 8000 to 20000 number-average molecular weight or a fatty acid-modified or unmodified epoxy resin having ≥300 epoxy equivalent with (B) one or more kinds of curing agents selected from urine resin, melamine resin, polyisocyanate compound, etc., and (C) silica in a weight ratio satisfying {[(A)+(B)]/(C)}=(95/5) to (50/50). In addition, a galvanized steel cable wire having a resin coating layer of 3 to 30μm thickness can be obtained by using the above-mentioned coating composition in an amount of 15 to 28wt.%, blending it with an organic solvent so as to prepare a coating solution having 20 to 170 centipoise viscosity, applying the resultant coating solution to a galvanized steel wire, baking and curing it.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
