PURPOSE: To track a motion target passively and to notify a possible target to an operator. ;CONSTITUTION: Data signals stored using a memory 11, a first time frame, and a processing window including the time for processing a predetermined subset of the stored data signal is processed to section 12 the processing window into a plurality of subwindows. A subwindow is selected 13 and, using a maximum posterior procedure, the strongest line of signal in the subwindow is detected 14, integrated 15 and removed 16. The step is repeated until all lines are selected, detected from the subwindow and removed.
