PURPOSE:To strengthen adhesive force between a basic material for blades and a diamond-like surface layer by providing a composite layer composed by both the basic material for blades and the diamond-like surface layer between them. CONSTITUTION:A basic material 10 for blades 2, 3 of a shaver is formed out of a material, such as stainless steel, carbon steel, alloy steel, ceramic, aluminium, or reinforced plastic, etc. A diamond-like surface layer 11 having extremely high strength which is provided on each surface of both the blades 2, 3, is made up of carbon atoms and formed by the irradiation with energy beams. A composite layer 12 provided between this basic material 10 for blades and the diamond-like surface layer 11, is so composed that the quantity of the atoms for the basic material is gradually decreased and the quantity of the carbon atoms is gradually increased, according to approaching the diamond-like surface layer 11 from the basic material 10. In this way, since and adhesive force between the basic material for blades and the diamond-like surface layer is very strong mechanically, there is no possibility that both of them are separated each other.
