PURPOSE:To start the gas burning in low flame by turning down, in directly igniting a main burner, the flow of gas preliminarily by means of a pressure control spring and, upon detection of the ignition, by turning a cam to the position for a normal pressure and, upon detecting extinguishment of the flames, by automatically making the cam resume the position for a gentle flame ignition. CONSTITUTION:The pressure exerted by a pressure control spring 37 is designed to be adjusted by means of a geared motor 17 driven by a low voltage such as that of a dry battery; the adjustment of the pressure is by turning a drum cam 42 on one end of a cam shaft 47, the turning causing a spring-bearing disk 38 on the other end to move up and down inside a valve bonnet 36. The drum cam is in position for ignition in low flames when the burner is at rest; when a flame rod detects the ignition in that position, the motor is driven to shift the drum cam to the position for the normal combustion and, when the flame rod detects extinguishment of the flames, the motor is driven again to automatically, the automatic return to the position for a gentle flame ignition is effected.
