Method and apparatus for manufacturing three-dimensional multi-axial woven fabric composite material

PURPOSE:To prepare a three-dimensional multi-axial fabric composite material being fitted to the condition of use, with no defect and with excellent mechanical properties. CONSTITUTION:A three-dimensional tri-axial preform 8 is filled in a molding container 5 and a thermosetting resin 7 is filled to impregnate the preform 8 with the resin. Then, under a controlled temp., a required pressure is applied on the thermosetting resin 7 through this molding container 5 until the fluidity is substantially made disappeared during the curing process of the thermosetting resin 7 to mold it. The pressure applied is made to be such a pressure being necessary for that the specific vol. at the point where the fluidity is substantially made disappreared during the curing process of the thermosetting resin 7 becomes smaller than the specific vol. at the temp. predetermined for use.
