PURPOSE: To transmit information about the posture of an underground advancing boring machine which is loaded on a drain water feed pipe inside the underground advancing boring machine by means of wireless, and to receive the information on the side of a shaft. ;CONSTITUTION: A method which detects the posture of an underground advancing boring machine α comprises detecting posture information θ and ϕ about the tip A of the machine at first and converting the detected posture information θand ϕ into a supersonic wave signal by means of pulse coded and then transmitting the data as a supersonic pulse signal S3 by means of a medium flowing in a water feed axial pipe 5 and a drain water outer pipe 6 installed inside the underground advancing boring machine α. The supersonic pulse signal S3 is received and reproduced inside the feed water axial pipe 5 and the drain water outer pipe 6 or their extension lines, thereby detecting the tip posture information θ and ϕ of the underground advancing boring machine α based on the application of the supersonic waves by means of wireless on the side of a shaft H which is advancing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
