PURPOSE: To shorten the time needed for connection of both terminals via a data channel and also to minimize the cost of a public data network. ;CONSTITUTION: If no existing channel connection is confirmed, this channel connection is established in response to generation of a frame that is sent by the transaction program of a private terminal 32 to the similar program of a remote terminal 34. In other words, the generated transaction program and data frame of the terminal 32 are transferred to a layer 2' from a layer 7. A reconnection management program 52 is prepared between the layer 2' and a layer 1, and a transmission request is given to the program 52 if a stack 50 has no control of a channel B. Then the program 52 tries to get the channel connection if a request application has no channel connection at all. Meanwhile, the channel connection is canceled without interrupting the conversation kept between the transaction programs after the last transmission or reception of the frame and in response to the lapse of a prescribed time or the presence of the shortest connection time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
