PURPOSE:To offer a playing input device suitable for making a player feel good in playing a musical instrument by providing a braking means capable of causing a braking force to act on playing control, a braking signal forming means which forms braking signals according to musical sound signal forming parameters, and a feedback means which controls the braking force using the braking signals. CONSTITUTION:A signal processing circuit 7 inputs as musical sound parameters the position of a finger on a finger panel, a force with which the finger pushes the panel, a bow-speed signal indicating the speed at which a bow moves, a bow-pressure signal indicating pressure that the bow exerts on a string, and a string scratch point signal indicating to which position of the string the bow is made to abut, and the like and a converting circuit 15 converts the signals to those suitable for control by a sound source circuit 16 and a musical sound is emitted via a sound system. A musical sound generated by the sound source circuit 16 and each playing control parameter input to an exchange circuit 15 are supplied to a braking force computing circuit 17 and a braking force signal is generated by numerical formulas and operations using tables, etc. This signal is given to a braking device 22 connected to the shaft of a rotating member 21 so that braking forces are generated; i.e. a player receives the braking force generated by the braking device 2 as resistance to rotation of the rotating member 21, thus feeling good in playing a musical instrument.
