PURPOSE: To execute excavation work safely in a caisson type foundation vertical hole by using caisson type foundation construction machine equipped with a hanger frame on a self-running frame capable of freely running on the ground and to make it possible to execute the excavation work efficiently in a plurality of caisson type foundation vertical holes so as to complete the work at a time. ;CONSTITUTION: In a caisson type foundation excavation construction method executed by using a caisson type foundation construction machine equipped with a hanger frame on a self-running frame 2 capable of freely running on the ground, a composite construction device 7 is suspended into a composite vertical hole bringing earth moving work to completion from the center and vicinity of the self-running frame by a winch 5 provided on the self-running frame of the caisson type foundation construction machine. After that, an excavator provided to a composite construction device is used to execute trimming work of a projection of an excavation surface in the vertical hole.
