PURPOSE:To reduce unit consumption of dephosphorizing agent and further, to dephosphorize high Mn molten iron under reducing the total cost by repeating a series of processes composed of dephosphorizing stage in the high Mn molten iron, recovery and regenerating treatment of generated slag and regenerated use thereof. CONSTITUTION:The high Mn molten iron containing 10-30wt.% Mn is charged into a furnace, ladle, etc., introducing stirring gas from the bottom and flux containing BaO, BaCl2, etc., as the essential component is added to lower P content in the molten iron from 0.060-0.040% at the initial stage to about 0.020-0.005%. Then, after recovering the generated slag, this recovered slag is brought into contact with carbon of carbon powder, etc., or high C-containing molten iron having about 3-4% C content to execute reduction treatment and regenerated flux lowering the P content is obtd. Successively, this regenerated flux is added to the above mentioned molten iron having =10wt.% Mn content and the dephosphorization is executed under condition of containing MnO in the slag at 10-30wt.%. By this method, the consumption of the expensive flux is minimized and the high Mn molten iron can be dephosphorized.
