STRAIN ASPERGILLUS TERREUS, PRODUCENT OF HYPOCHOLESTEROLIMIC PRODUCT

The strain is used in the pharmaceutical industry for the preparation of hypocholesterolimic product of the group of A lactones used in medicine as an agent for the adjustment of the cholesterin content in blood. Strain Aspergillus terreus is produced by mutagenous treatment of the initial Aspergillus terreus, NBIMCC No. 3319, by treatment with UV light, selection of specific variant of the strain after resowing, natural selection and subsequent treatment with N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanadine. Mutant having considerably increased productive potentials of the desired hypocholesterollimic product is produced.
