In a method of continuously weft-knitting a three-dimensional object such as a vehicle seat cover, edges (13, 13 and 14, 14) which subtend too great an angle (180 DEG as shown) to be joined by a simple knitted suture can be joined by a knitting pattern in accordance with Fig 2E. This involves taking congruent areas, e.g. triangles (23, 24) one side of which corresponds to the respective edge (13, 14) and pivoting them about their apices (P1, P2) so as to provide a plurality of pairs of sides of equal length and equal but opposite inclination which are then united by a knitted suture. Thus in the completed object a first suture joins each pair of edges (13, 14) and further sutures extend from both ends of each first suture to an intersection (P2). IMAGE
