The invention relates to the plant physiology and selection and may be used in the agriculture for the assessment of plant different forms, mainly maize, to the coldresistance as well as for the assessment of the exogenous regulators action on the plant coldresistance.The purpose of the invention consists in the acceleration and symplification of the diagnostics process. It is measured the maize lines and hybrids power losses in the phase of 1-5 leaves. In addition it is measured the power losses of the control plants in the capacity of which are used coldresistant or noncoldresistant lines, hybrids grown simultaneously with the diagnosed ones and the coldresistance is diagnosed according to the power losses difference of tested and control plants. The more is the difference value, the more different by the coldresistance are the diagnosed lines and hybrids.
