PURPOSE: To reduce the liquid crystal driving voltage to reduce the power consumption of a display system by simultaneously selecting the scanning electrodes of a liquid crystal panel for a plurality of lines. ;CONSTITUTION: A display data 102 is supplied every dot synchronously with a data latch signal 103, and a line signal 104 is supplied every transmission of the display data for one line. Scanning electrode driving circuits 108, 109 generate a 4-line signal 116 and a scanning function data 114 from the line signal 104 and a head line signal 105, and supply scanning electrode driving voltages 122, 123 to a liquid crystal panel 100. The display data 102, the 4-line signal 116, and the scanning function data 114 are supplied to data electrode driving circuits 106, 107 synchronously with the data latch signal 103. The data electrode driving circuits 106, 107 perform a prescribed arithmetic processing between the scanning function data and the display data for 4 lines, and data electrode driving voltages 120, 121 according to the result are supplied to the liquid crystal panel 100.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
