DYNAMIC TARGET GAIN IN THE CAPTURE OF USER MOVEMENTS

The, movement of a manual input de-vice in an information processing systemdetermines the movement of a cursor acrossthe system's display. The display visual-izes a virtual space, eg., in a multi-mediaenvironment. Certain stationary or movingareas on the display represent target areasserving as possible destinations for the cur-sor. In order to create a catching effect onthe cusor, the system requires more usermovement to leave than to enter the tar-get region, thus enhancing target acquisi-tion performance of the user.
