The present invention refers to a device for transferring products from a conveyor belt of a production line to a pocket type conveyor belt of a packaging line, especially for production lines of bars of soap or the like. The device comprises a plurality of positioning conveyors which are lined up with each other and arranged in exit sequence from a feeding conveyor belt. The positioning conveyors can be individually actuated on command, and at each of the positioning conveyors there are provided means of detecting the presence of a product on the particular positioning conveyor, starting with the positioning conveyor most downstream, along the direction of advancement of the positioning conveyors, to bring about a sequential stopping of the positioning conveyors at such times when they are occupied by a product arriving from the feeding conveyor belt. There are also provided means of picking up the group of products placed on the positioning conveyors for insertion in the pockets of a pocket type conveyor belt. IMAGE
