Apparatus for the recovery of energy in reverse osmosis treatment processes for industrial waters, concentration of various solutions, and the like, utilising a multistage pump and a recovery turbine, consisting of a cylindrical metal lining inside which are mounted, at the bottom, a multistage pump with radial blades and a multistage turbine also with radial blades, having an inclination opposite that of the blades of said pump, said pump and said turbine being axially aligned and integrated with a single shaft, coaxial with said casing and operated by an external motor, between the opposite ends of said pump and said turbine there being provided, transverse to said casing, means of interruption able to shunt the output of the pump within an osmotic membrane device and to conduct the flow of pressurised fluid that has not crossed said membrane to the entrance of said turbine and until said flow is discharged, thus enabling recovery of the residual energy from said flow as it passes through the turbine itself.
