A storage trolley complex is described for yarn reels as well as an automatic device for unloading the reels from said storage trolley and for their subsequent feed to a packaging machine; the storage trolley 2 is provided with a plurality of horizontal seats 6, 31 arranged parallel on superimposed tables, each seat 6, 31 being suitable for housing a plurality of reels 1, resting on one side and aligned axially to form a row; the automatic device 3, 25 comprises a compartment 4 for the insertion into said trolley 2 of means of pushing 7 for transferring a facing row of reels 1, placed on a respective seat 6, 31 of the trolley 2, on a means of reception and transport 19, 20, 21, 22 23, and 32 of the row of reels 1, alternatively moveable between a reception position for said row of reels 1 and the trolley 2 to a position for transporting the row of reels 1 to a device 34, 35, 36, 37 for expelling the individual reels 1, one at a time, towards the packaging machine.
