A method for mechanical pickling, in particular for steels and non-ferrous metals, envisages a phase subsequent to the usual rolling operation in which the metal band 1 is subjected only to a mechanical abrasion operation, by means of brushing it to remove oxides. The operation is carried out on at least one face of the band.
