A method for controlling settling of the ground S, especially asymmetrical settling at the foundation B of buildings T, towers, and the like, such as the leaning tower of Pisa, comprises the making of a first excavation C and a plurality of holes perpendicular to it, each one comprising a cylindrical portion and a tapering portion. A tool consisting of a plurality of flexible sheaths 11 comprising a cylindrical portion 12 and a tapering portion 13 is inserted into the plurality of holes under the foundation of the building. Each of the sheaths is filled by a pressurised fluid, preferably incompressible, the quantity of which inside each individual sheath can be regulated to reduce, eliminate, and perhaps reverse the tendency of the overlying building to lean.
