Method for removing and recovering chromium and an aqueous acid solution containing trivalent chromium and possibly other metals, characterised in that removal of the trivalent chromium from the said solution is performed by placing the said solution in contact with a mixture of ion exchange resins comprising at least one cationic resin whose pKa lies between 3 and 7 and at least one anionic resin whose pKa lies between 8 and 12.
