Catalyst component for stereospecificity for olefin! polymerisation - contg. cyclo:polyenic 1,3-di:ether with poly:cyclic structure, magnesium halide in active form and titanium cpd., for high activity
A solid catalyst component (I) for the polymerisation of olefins comprises: (a) a magnesium halide (II) in active form; (b) a titanium cpd. (III) contg. Ti-halogen bond(s); and (c) a cyclo-polyenic 1,3-diether (IV) in which the C in position 2 belongs to a cyclic or polycyclic structure (IVA) made up of 5-7C, or 5-n or 6'-nC, where: n, n' = the number of N and N, O, S and Si heteroatoms respectively n = 1-2; and n'=1-3. (IVA) contains 2-3 cyclo-polyenic structures opt. condensed with other cyclic structures, or substd. with alkyl radical(s); cycloalkyl, aryl, aralkyl, alkaryl radicals and halogens, or opt. bonded with other cyclic structures. Also claimed are: (i) a catalyst (V) for the polymerisation of olefins; (ii) a catalyst for polymerisation of olefins comprising the reaction prod. using a cyclo-polyenic 1,3-diether; and (ii) a process for the polymerisation of CH2=CHR olefins (VI) or mixt. of (VI) and diolefins. R = H or 1-6C alkyl radical or an aryl radical.
