Wholly biodegradable films of mixtures substantially comprising (in particular) from 70 to 99% of hydroxy-beta- butyrate copolymers comprising 4 to 20% of hydroxy-beta valerate, 0 to 20% of plasticizer, 0 to 1.5% of nucleating agent with or without other additives, stretched in at least one direction and orientated, essentially characterised by an elongation on failure of at least 50%, preferably from 50 to 350%, in the longitudinal direction, and a failure load of at least 15 and preferably from 15 to 70 N/mm2 in the longitudinal direction.
