The invention is of the type which consists of a body with a certain thickness e given a curvoconcave surface 3 and another, curvoconvex, surface 2 (meniscus), the application of which consists in substituting for the functions of the crystallin of the eye after a cataract operation in order to leave the person who has been operated on free of sight defects. Its object is to successfully render free from sight defects those myopic eyes which, on account of their axial lengths and corneal powers (capacities), exhibit an emetropization range of less than one dioptre, for which purpose it is essentially characterized in that the radii of curvature r of the curvoconcave surface 3 and curvoconvex surface 2 which make up the lens are identical in value and sign, all with a view to exhibiting a very low power. The haptics 4 which constitute the elements for fastening the lens in the posterior chamber are determined by bodies diametrically opposed in the lens which are elongate and of circular section and extend at the top and at the bottom in an inclined manner with respect to the lens as far as the centre of the latter.
