COMMON FILE ACCESS SYSTEM AND A COMMON FILE ACCESS METHOD IN A DISTRIBUTED MEMORY TYPE COMPUTER SYSTEM

A distributed memory type computer system comprisesa common file system for managing file data beingaccessed by multiple distributed processing computers, amaster computer for managing file data in the common filesystem and having file access to the common file systemin accordance with a file access request and informationon a file location provided by each distributedprocessing computer, at least one sub-master computer forproviding each distributed processing computer with theinformation of a file location in the common file systemin accordance with inquiry from each distributedprocessing computer about the file access location,multiple distributed processing computers for inquiringof the sub-master computer the file location andreceiving the information on a file location from thesub-master computer when accessing the file in the commonfile system, and providing the file access request andthe information on a file location to the mastercomputer, and a communication network for transmittingdata between the master computer, the sub-mastercomputers and the distributed processing computers.
