TRIM REMOVING APPARATUS ASSOCIATED WITH A CUTTING-OFF MACHINE FOR THE FORMATION OF SMALL ROLLS OF TOILET PAPER OR THE LIKE

An apparatus is provided for the removal of "trims" andother waste from small rolls of toilet paper, all-purpose wipersand other articles, with arrangement for thrust-operatedadvancement of rows of said small rolls (R). It includes atleast a continuous belt element 12, with a suction box 30 able tohold the small rolls (R) in suspension and to move the latterforward, while excluding the "trims" (RF) or other scraps fromthis action. The continuous belt element 12 has uniformlydistributed apertures (22) and, in its lower active travelportion, moves at a speed at least equal to the average feedingspeed of the small rolls. It slides beneath the suction box 30which exerts a pneumatic aspirating and retaining action on therow of advancing small rolls. The continuous belt 12 hasportions without apertures which, during its motion which issynchronized with that of the small rolls being pushed forward,corresponds to the space between the end of a row of small rollsformed from a log and the beginning of the row formed from thesubsequent log.
