A novel gene encoding an outer membrane protein of helicobacter pylori and a recombinant microorganism expressing the same

The present invention relates to a novel gene coding for a 22kDa-outer membrane protein (Omp22) of Helicobacter pylori, an expression vector containing the said gene, a recombinant microorganism expressing the protein, a process for preparing the recombinant outer membrane protein employing the said vector, and the use of the recombinant outer membrane protein for the diagnosis or vaccine for H. pylori infection. Since the recombinant Omp22 protein shows the same antigenicity and immunogenicity as native one, it can be used as an active ingredient of diagnostic kits and vaccines for H. pylori-associated diseases, and it can be also used for the production of anti-H. pylori antibody.
