The present invention is intended not only to obviate trouble in driving operation of an automobile by automating the operation of a constant speed travelling device of the automobile to thereby make low-speed constant travelling possible but also to make it possible to select a safer travelling in which driving at a speed corresponding to a load on the road surface is automatically continued in accordance with the state and condition of a road and the capability of a driver. Therefore, since it is possible to put the body and mind of a driver at rest during driving by keeping the foot away from the accelerator pedal (2), it is possible not only to make the driving pleasant but also to prevent the driver from getting exhausted, thereby increasing the capability of concentration of attention so as to promote safety driving, thus preventing the occurrence of accidents. The present invention is configured such that driving is automatically continued by preventing the reverse movement of the accelerator pedal (2) of an automobile and that the operation of the constant speed travelling device is released immediately it is detected that the foot is taken away from the accelerator pedal, and acceleration rod (4) and an acceleration wire (6) being detached in synchronism therewith.
