The invention relates to a process and device for sorting and extraction of biological objects on a planar slide (2). The field of an object or the object itself which is on the slide (2) is dissected using a laser beam (6) and transferred by a laser-induced conveying process to a collector substrate (5) arranged directly above or below the slide. During dissection, the object is driven around by the laser beam (6) in a closed curve or is cut directly and automatically from the slide (2), said operation being controlled by computer. This process can be used to separate and sort individual objects selected from a very large number of objects. The process can also be used to separate specific cells from tissue sections.
