Apparatus comprising a support (37), a system of slides (3. 27, 28) movable with respect to the support (37), motors (10, 24) for displacing the slides (3, 27, 28), transducers (47, 48) adapted to provide signals indicative of the positions of the slides (3, 27, 28) and measuring means (30, 31) carried by the system of slides (3,27,28).;In order to perform, accurately and quickly, measurements on different types of parts (38, 75), the system of slides (3, 27, 28) comprises a longitudinal slide (3) and two slides (27, 28) movable simultaneously and symmetrically along the same transversal directions. The measuring means comprise two measuring heads (30, 31) each of which is fixed to a relevant transversal slide (27, 28) and adapted to measure both in longitudinal and transversal directions. The measurements of the parts (38, 75) are obtained by combining the signals of the transducers (47, 48) and those provided by the measuring heads (30,31).;The apparatus is particularly suitable for measurements in manufacturing shops.
