The satellite is in geostationary orbit above the earth on a low path such that a disturbance moment is applied by the earths gravitational field. A pair of magnetic coils are used on the x and z axes of the satellite and together with a gyro wheel and a two axes earth sensor allow a compensating action to be applied. For position and nutation regulation the coils are activated to a linear control law using the sensor signals. The gyro wheel regulation uses a PI action control law
