Process for fabricating a weather-, permanent flame proofed yarn, a yarn based fabric and a dyed yarn based blind for outdoor use

A process for the production of weatherproof, permanently low-flammability yarns which are dyed in various shades for use in particular for awning materials for outside use. A yarn consisting of 100% polyethylene terephthalate fibre such as Trevira CS is dyed in a dye liquor of the following composition - x% disperse dye such as Samaron, - x% levelling agent such as Eganal PS, for levelling the dye add-on, - x% acetic acid for pH 4.5-5, - x% sodium acetate, as an acid donor for stabilising the pH, - remainder soaking liquor in an autoclave under pressure at 50 to 115 DEG C. The dyed and reductively cleaned and prepared yarn is woven to give a fabric which for oil/dirt/water repellency is finished in a finishing bath containing a fluorocarbon resin such as Scotchgard FC 251 and an organic compound having a high phosphorus content such as Pekoflam PES and then finished on a padder.
