The invention relates to a method for titrating iodine at low concentration in a nitrate solution, in particular a uranyl nitrate solution. According to this method, a reducing agent such as ascorbic acid is added to the sample to be titrated in order to keep the iodine in the iodide state, and the potential difference E1 between an iodide-ion selective electrtode (5) and a reference electrode (7) is then measured, a first and a second iodide solution, having known iodide concentrations and containing a reducing agent, are next successively added, whilst measuring, after each addition, the potential differences E2 then E3 between the electrodes (5) and (7), then, on the basis of E1, E2, E3, the concentrations and the volumes of the additions, the initial iodine concentration of the solution is calculated.
