CHANNEL DECISION METHOD OF TELEVISION SYSTEM

A channel selection technique of a TV self-checks whether or not a signal exists in a broadcasting signal channel and a line signal channel, determines whether a current input signal is a broadcasting signal or a line signal, performs an automatic channel selection operation, and informs a bad connection of an antenna. The channel discrimination method checks whether there is a signal in a line signal inherent channel when inputting an automatic program key. If the signal exists in the line signal inherent channel, it is determined that a current input signal is a line signal. If the signal does not exist in the line signal inherent signal, a broadcasting signal channel number is sequentially increased. If the signal does not exist in the broadcasting signal channel, a bad connection of an antenna is determined, and an on-screen character for informing the bad conndction is displayed.
