摘要
The present invention relates to shark cartilage extracts having direct anti-angiogenic properties (reducing the vascular area observed in vivo in an experimentally induced tumor), in vivo tumor regeneration activity and cell line, will be. The method of the present invention does not use a denaturing solvent or a product and does not use an enzyme. The method consists of obtaining a mixture of cartilage whole from an aqueous solution of neutral pH, preferably pure water, and centrifuging the mixture to maintain the pellets and supernatant for further processing. The pellet is lyophilized and tested for in vivo and in vivo antitumor and anti-angiogenic activity in the presence or absence of supernatant. The supernatant was found to have anti-angiogenic and tumor regressing activity in the living body. The composition of the supernatant was investigated in various ways. This supernatant was fractionated to characterize some of its active ingredients. Fractions were tested for direct activity in vitro on their cancer cell lines. Thus, the non-fractionated supernatant is presumed to have such biological activity. Freeze drying substantially destroys the activity of these liquid fractions, but such destruction is not observed in solid extracts.
