Process for manufacturing high temperature superconductor consists of i)preparing BaCaCu2O5+x and CaCuO2+x at 800-920 deg.C with conventional solid state reaction, ii)mixing BaCaCu2O5+x and mercury oxide at a molecular ratio of one to one and reacting at 800-820 deg.C in mercury vapor pressure of 100-300 atmosphere to give HgBa2CaCu2O6+x, iii)mixing HgBa2CaCu2O6+x and CaCuO2+x at a molecular ratio of 1:0.5-1 and reacting at 820-850 deg.C in mercury vapor pressure of 100-300 atmosphere to give HgBa2Ca2Cu3O8+x, iv)treating HgBa2Ca2Cu3O8+x with oxygen at 250-300 deg.C in 1 atmosphere.
