The chiral dopant used for eliminating the reverse twisting phenomenon that occurs in the currently used twisted nematic mode liquid crystal display in the liquid crystal display increases the threshold voltage and reduces the voltage retention rate to lower the contrast. By introducing the chiral carbon into the liquid crystal alignment layer, which is a component of the liquid crystal display device, the threshold voltage is decreased and the voltage holding ratio is increased to raise the contrast of the LCD panel.
