The present invention relates to a method for recovering metal lead from a waste industrial battery. According to the present invention, metal scrap collected from a waste storage battery is treated by a solution process performed under a frozen melt film. The flux is composed of an alkali hydroxide and optionally consists of the alkali carbonate underlayer. The temperature maintained during the spinning process is between 350 [deg.] And 600 [deg.] C and most preferably between 450 [deg.] C and 550 [deg.] C. The preferred weight ratio between the metal scrap and the flux is 15 to 45. Generally, the alkali flux is selected from sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and mixtures thereof. The process according to the present invention has the advantage that it has a higher recovery of lead than the known process and does not produce exhaust gas.
