FIELD: clearing of land strips prior to forest planting. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has rotary head pivotally secured on manipulator boom. Rotary head has base and rotary mechanism with hydraulic cylinder for rotation in longitudinal vertical plane and hydraulic double-action cylinder for rotation about vertical axis. Frame 12 is connected to base through hinge for rotation in vertical longitudinal plane. Frame 12 carries vegetation cutting mechanism, gripping levers rotating in horizontal plane and vertical guide 22. Stump grinding mechanism fixed in guide 22 through bracket 23 is made in the form of circular saws 27 and cutters arranged alternately on vertical shaft 26. Stump grinding mechanism is provided with reciprocating drive formed as hydraulic cylinder 30. Apparatus is adapted to cut separate trees and bushes, crosscut deadwood lying on the ground, convey cutting wastes onto land strip supposed to be planted and stack wastes on this strip or transfer it onto vehicle, grind stumbs remaining on the strip.
