FIELD: transport engineering; internal combustion engines for any vehicles powered by internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: in proposed engine one combustion chamber provides operation of six cylinder. Cylinders are paired through common vertical axis with pistons of upper and lower cylinders connected by rod passing through bushing connecting the cylinders. Upwards and downwards movements of rod are working strokes, thanks to which paired cylinders realize concept of single-stroke internal combustion engine instead of four-stroke diesel engine. Upper part of upper cylinder serves simultaneously as compressor. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 5 cl, 1 dwg
