FIELD: immunology. SUBSTANCE: the first component of complement is removed from serum blood by addition of polyethylene glycol (molecular mass is 6 kDa) at concentration 4.1-4.3%. After precipitate removing supernatant is diluted by two-fold with 4.1-4.3% of the same polyethylene glycol aqueous solution and acidified to pH = 5.5. All residual activity of C1 is transferred to precipitate. Then precipitate is removed by centrifugation and the obtained reagent is alkalinized to pH = 6.5.
