FIELD: applied wood carving art; fabrication of applied arts products with utilitarian functions, for instance, cases, salt-cellars, scoops, etc. SUBSTANCE: the product body in the form of a bird is oriented in the wood blank in such a way that the vertical plane of the product symmetry would pass through the trunk fragment core axis; the surfaces of the product wings, tail and cop with the approximating parts of the conical and cylindrical surfaces are oriented with respect to the cylindrical surfaces of the wood yearly seams in such a way that the angle between their respective lines would vary within 10 to 80 deg.; and the strips between the furrows on the wings, tail and cop are rounded off into rolls at an angle of 10 to 90 deg. to the lines of the yearly seams on the respective surfaces.
