SUBSTANCE: invention relates to xylanase from B. pumilus PPL B12. Gene encoding xylanase is isolated, purified and used for expressing vector constructing. Invention relates to also recombinant strain-host B. licheniformis which after its transformation with expressing vector shows high efficacy for expressing heterological enzymes including xylanase. Xylanase is used as an effective agent for biological wood pulp whitening. Its use ensures to decrease chlorine and AOX-compounds amount significantly that were produced in classic ECF-process of wood pulp whitening and ozone amount during TCF-whitening. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of xylanase for whitening.
