METHOD OF DETERMINATION OF AIRCRAFT RESPONDER RANGE IN GROUND-AIRCRAFT LINE IN FLIGHT TESTS

SUBSTANCE: method of determination of aircraft responder range in ground-aircraft line in flight tests consists in the fact that at a radial flight of the aircraft in the direction towards the ground interrogator (or from the interrogator) the range is determined on the screen of the ground acquisition radar tied in with the interrogator, at which identification marker appears (or disappears in case of flight from the interrogator), and this range is compared with the minimum allowable value of identification range preset by the specifications. The method is featured by the fact that flight is being accomplished at an artificially reduced energy potential of the ground interrogator, and the identification range obtained in the tests is compared with the new value of the minimum allowable identification range by calculated by the formula given in the description. EFFECT: facilitated procedure.
