METHOD AND DEVICE FOR INITIATING THE COMBUSTION AND INTENSIFICATION OF COMBUSTION OF LEAN FUEL-AIR MIXTURES IN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES

FIELD: internal combustion engines; piston engines with precombustion chamber ignition with improved economy characteristics used as drives in transport and power engineering. SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine has main combustion chamber 1 with working cylinder 2, piston 3, ignition chamber 4 symmetrical relative to cylinder axis and furnished with ignition device with ring spark gap 6 and connected with main combustion chamber 1 by two systems of channels in ignition chamber bottom and on its side cylindrical surface near spark gap. Central nozzle 7 is made in the form of narrowing channel with smooth inlet at side of cylinder and sharply cut outlet with sharp edges at side of ignition chamber 4. Ignition chamber has additional channels 8 communicating main chamber 1 over its periphery with part of ignition chamber at spark plug. Axes of holes 9 of channels 8 at inlet of ignition chamber 4 are arranged tangentially relative to its inner surface, and outlet nozzles of channels 8 are made narrowing, with sharp outlet edges. Periphery nozzles 11 in bottom of ignition chamber 4 intended for forming igniting jets are also made in the form of narrowing channels with smooth inlets at side of ignition chamber 4 and sharply cut outlets with sharp edges at side of main combustion chamber 1. Axes 12 of periphery nozzles 11 are oriented tangentially relative to circle of center of masses of fuel-air charge for preset volume of main combustion chamber 1.
