This novel cavity wall construction forms a heat insulating structure.The rear leaf (4) of brickwork is internal, with an outer leaf (14) of similar construction. Heat insulating material (12) is enclosed.Internal surfaces of the leaves are spaced apart. A novel feature is the containment of static air chambers (24) up to 40 mm wide, between the inner surface of the outer leaf and the heat insulation. Also, the outer leaf is made of heat insulating bricks. Also claimed are the heat insulating bricks (14a,b,...) as described. Preferably these have projections of some 25 mm
