In nuclear physics measuring techniques the electrical loadings produced through particle detectors are very small and of very short duration. However an impulse detector with a storage capacitor and a switching circuit over three transistors will measure pulses in the pico- and nano-second amplitude ranges and millivolt region. The detector has no capacitor for the collector and the voltage serving the storage capacitor is virtually nil. All channels are supplied by only one load voltage source and by first, second and third management voltage sources. All output channels are connected to a switching circuit which produces a voltage value from their voltage maxima. The minimum number of inexpensive components is used.
